Professional Of The Quarter, Marcia Reid

Congratulations to our Professional of the Quarter, Marcia Reid, Lead Mentor and Certified Nursing Assistant at Trevecca Center for Rehabilitation and Healing!

Marcia Reid has been working in healthcare for the past decade, serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant for all ten years at Trevecca Center.

“The best part of my day is when my co-workers and when my residents are happy to see me,” Reid shared. “It is the most fulfilling when I complete my task, and my managers are happy, and family members and residents are happy; that makes my day fulfilled.”

A warm, strong presence in the community, many look to Reid for advice or for a shoulder to lean on, colleagues and residents alike. “I split my time as best as I can; I cried of joy when I was recognized. It feels awesome. I felt proud, and it gave me a push to keep on doing what I’m doing! Thank you!”

Marcia Reid is a finalist for the Professional of the Year contest; the winner will be announced during Nursing Home Week 2019!

Supporting the Nashville Community Through Education: Fall Prevention for Aging Adults

Trevecca Center was proud to partner with the Nashville Public Library, Goodlettsville branch, for an educational day alongside those in the community in support of fall prevention awareness. Clinical professionals, Ava Quick & Sonda McEver of the Trevecca team, led the seminar by sharing prevention protocols while also providing free balance assessments for those in attendance. 

“According to the CDC, Every 19 mins an aging adult dies from a fall-related injury, and every 11mins is admitted to the ER due to a fall. It is critical that we provide resources to our senior communities to help minimize the risk of falling. We look forward to partnering with programs like “Be Well” and the NPL in pursuit of this goal.” – Ava K. Quick, MS, CCC-SLP  

Elizabeth Roth of the Nashville Public Library shared, “Nashville Public Library was pleased to partner with physical therapy professionals from Trevecca Center in order to bring a falls prevention program to seniors in the community. The falls self-assessment checklist and exercise demonstrations made it interactive and engaging for all who attended. We will definitely partner around this topic again!”

Signature Amputee Program in the Nashville Region

Our community was honored to welcome professionals from across the area to our CEU event in support of those in the vascular and diabetic communities. The goal of the informational seminar was to provide education on amputee care through our signature Comprehensive Amputee Rehabilitation Program lead by Paralympic Gold Medalists, Todd Schaffhauser and Dennis Oehler. With over 65 attendees, the event was the first of many educational seminars to follow for 2018. To learn more about our amputee support program, please click here!

Trevecca Named Among The Nation’s Best!

There’s a new ranking system in the U.S. that has rated 2,300 nursing and rehabilitation centers among the nation’s best! 

A recent U.S. News Report shared that 31 centers in the state of Tennessee were ranked with high marks nationally for their commitment to quality care, exceeding clinical measures, and superb rehabilitation outcomes; among the 31 centers include Trevecca Center and CareRite sister community, Bethany Center for Rehabilitation and Healing! 

Trevecca and Bethany Center were ranked among their peers state-wide as 3rd and 4th, respectively. Congratulations to our team for ensuring the highest optimal provision of care for those that we serve!

“Art For Life” At Trevecca!

Throughout the month of July Trevecca Center will be celebrating “Art For Life”, a campaign designed to offer residents, staff, families and members of the Nashville and surrounding communities an opportunity to share their artistic and creative talents.

Residents have the opportunity to showcase their beautiful artistic pieces within the Trevecca community, offering all an opportunity to vote on their favorite! The winner will be selected to represent Trevecca Center in the national CareRite Centers 2018 calendar! Hurry and cast your vote today!
